Things I Learned Today On The Internet
#1: Greenpeace has figured out that online voting is probably a bad idea. They decided to hold an online contest to name a whale on the Great White Trail. Out of 10,000+ name submissions, and after narrowing the field down to the 30 best names, a clear winner is emerging with 73% of the vote: Mister Splashy Pants.
#2: I can charge my iPod anywhere. All I need is a white onion and two cups of Gatorade. This site (complete with video) tells me how to do it. Behold the science!
#3: The weather in Antarctica can be a whole lot of no fun.
Watch out...Greenpeace street donation-getters are everywhere here! They try to be all nice to you, and ask your name and how you are. I like to respond with: "Remember the time Greenpeace protesters tried to sink that Japanese fishing boat? And then there was a big storm at sea and the Greenpeace protesters capsized and almost drowned and then the Japanese fishing boat crew saved their life? And then as soon as they were on their boat again they tried to sink the Japanese again!? So much for karma."
