Friday afternoon, we (in the Reverb Syndicate) got to the Flats around 2pm, to start bringing our equipment to the stage, and to do a quick interview live on the Bear at 2:30. We had a bit of a sound check mid-afternoon, and then got to spend a little time relaxing before the show. I didn't get to take many photos myself, but here's a little shot of what my end of the stage looked like. (Also contrast and compare my humble setup with that of Victor Wooten's, who was set up right behind me.)
We hit the stage at 6pm with an already pretty nice-sized crowd, and as the show went on, more and more people started coming over. Reports are that there were about 4000 people by the end of our set, which is definitely not too shabby for a local band with day jobs. Anyway, here are a few photos I particularily enjoy. First, a shot of the whole band, plus the go-go dancers in action. (As always, click to embiggen the photos)
I like this one a lot too. It's kind of artsy and self-indulgent, but hey, it's my blog. I'm not sure when this was exactly, but probably sometime mid-way through the set.
And another of the band in action. This must have been one of the more complex songs, since we all look very focused on what we're doing.
And finally, as if to sum it all up, here's us playing Intoxica, right at the end of our set. It's a little overexposed, but hey, it's my blog.
So there you have it. I can't really adequately convey how fun this gig was. And huge thanks to everyone who came out to see us, it was a really awesome day. Mahalo!
