After a train ride that felt like forever for me (see the end of the
previous post), we made it to Victoria station about mid-morning. One bottle of
Irn-Bru later, and I was back to being my normal self once again. We split up to drop off bags and instruments in different places, then met at
St. John's Wood tube station, right around the corner from
Abbey Road studios. Let's face it - we went there to take what is likely the most overdone and clichéd picture a band could take, but I think we had to do it. Unfortunately, without the luxury of closing down Abbey Road itself for photos, we were more or less scrambling across the street and back while B took photos from the sidewalk. (In fact, here's the scene from
about 2 seconds later).

After that, we headed to Camden Market, which was a complete zoo on a Saturday afternoon, but really fun to wander around. We split up again for a while, and then joined up again at the club later on. This show was a lot of fun since we all seem to know people who live in London, and it was great to see
friendly faces at the show!
12 Bar was a really tiny place on Denmark Street, surrounded by instrument stores on all sides. It was long and narrow with several little rooms. The front was a pub-like room with tables, then a bar room, then the actual stage was in the smallest room of all in the back, with stairs leading up to a balcony-type area which could hold maybe 12 people at most. We played second of four bands at around 10:45pm, and had a really good crowd (which seems to be a common theme across all our gigs here.) The odd layout also provided for some pretty interesting photos, like this one.

Anyway, I'm glad we got the chance to play in London. This was a show that seriously came up at the last minute, and I think it would have been a bit strange to play the UK without a London show. The sad part was that it was also the last show of the tour, and at the end of the night it was over.
To be continued with the UK Tour epilogue...
