Happy Thanksgiving!

While Thanksgiving isn't a holiday in the UK, we decided to have our own little dinner over here nonetheless. We had a grocery spree the night before, collected the necessary supplies, and got to cooking on Sunday. Aside from the turkey taking about 3½ hours to cook instead of the 2 hours predicted on the wrapping, everything turned out extremely well. The full menu (clockwise from the turkey at the bottom), consisted of the following: turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, turnip, and vegetarian haggis (a little Scottish twist) which, I must admit, makes an excellent complement to a traditional Thanksgiving feast. The photo doesn't include the massive lunch of cheese, bread and crackers we had earlier in the afternoon, or the baklava and chocolate toffee cake for dessert. All in all, there was probably enough food for about twice the number of people, so we know what we're going to be living off for the next few days at least.

Here are the happy eaters seconds prior to the big Dig-In.

that's amazing. Glad to see thanksgiving was celebrated throughout the UK. (despite not having the next day off!)
