Right. So here I am again, back in Edinburgh and ridiculously late with providing any sort of update whatsoever. I spent four weeks back in Ottawa, and figured that I would prefer spending time doing other things than blogging while I was there. Anyway, in order to get some sense of continuity, here's a short recap so we can get to more interesting things to come.

TRS got back together, and played four fantastic shows (okay, well, maybe three fantastic shows and a good live practice), the first since early February when I left to come over here. Sudbury and Toronto were a lot of fun, and despite a lot of time spent on the road, we played to some really great crowds there. The Ottawa show topped it all off for me, since not only did we get to play to a perfectly-sized audience, I also got to see most of my friends in one place simultaneously, which is a rare experience and definitely a whole lot of fun.
Other than band stuff, I got to spend a lot of time at home seeing the parents, a couple of days hanging out with my niece & nephew (including an Ottawa Rapidz game), had a few Monday nights with the usual dudes, and had many a dinner and drinks with people I wanted to see while I was there. So all in all, a pretty successful trip back.
The return to Edinburgh was not without it's little quirks. Our original flight was cancelled, or rather shifted to another flight, since Air Transat is trying to accommodate as many stranded Zoom passengers as possible, so we were routed through Glasgow (which meant getting off the plane in Glasgow, going through security, getting back on the plane, flying 15 minutes to Edinburgh, and then going through customs.) It was a bit of a crazy trip, but we made it here eventually.

When we got back to our apartment, we noticed that we now have a second broken window, this time in the front. It looks like someone broke the window trying to get in the flat, but were thwarted by a little hinge on the inside designed to prevent the window from opening more than 6 inches or so. They also tried breaking the hinge off, but even in it's semi-attached state it still won't let the window get past. I'm actually a bit surprised that someone tried this, since our street is a major pedestrian throughfare. I can really only assume it happened at night, and probably by someone who noticed over a period of weeks that we weren't at home. That's city living for you, I suppose.
Next week - the TRS arrival and UK tour kickoff. Stay tuned!
