"72 Hours To Save The World" Wrap-Up

Well, we're back from our whirlwind tour of the Toronto region. We kicked off this little event by playing on Ottawa Live Music on CKCU Thursday night (complete with our original radio production of "Operation: Jet Set!", part one [mp3]). Then then next morning we set off for Toronto on Friday to play at a cool little place on Queen Street called Mitzi's Sister with Rings of June and K. Very cool first night where we had a lot of friends turn up and since we were playing first, we had lots of time to just hang out. Great!

Playing in nearby Guelph on the Saturday night gave us time to lounge around Toronto for the afternoon, which included a trip to Active Surplus, buying way too much music at SoundScapes, and joining up briefly with some protesters from a group called Wild at Heart who were protesting the fur trade on Queen street. And then it was off to Guelph to play at the Jimmy Jazz with our friends from Elvyn (who played a fantastic show). Guelph is a bit of a crazy town after hours, and apparently it's even crazier when students are around. Yikes.

Finally, it was off to Kitchener on Sunday night to play at a great little place called the Circus Room. To be honest, we had absolutely no expectations playing on a Sunday night in Kitchener, but it turned out to be really fun. We played with two fantastic bands, Hexes and Ohs (from Montreal) and this completely insane local band called The Haunches, who had recruited go-go dancers, and another band to play simultaneously as the MegaHaunches. It was total mayhem.

And then it was back to the 'wa to wrap up our little mini-tour. Big kudos to SCE for coming out to see us two nights in a row and letting me crash at her pad! There's lots more photos on our site from the tour, too, so check it out!

And now back to normality. Dig.
