Gatineau Park Winter Fun Day

Last Sunday, B and I decided to make use of the bonus day on the rental car to head up to Gatineau Park for a little winter outdoors time. It's the first time I'd ever gone up to Gatineau Park in the winter, and I didn't realize a few obvious things, such as:

  • Most of the hiking trails are closed;
  • A lot of the hiking trails have become Cross-Country ski trails;
  • The roads I'm used to taking to the hiking trails are also now Cross-Country ski trails; and
  • A lot of people like to Cross-Country ski.

Anyway, we found one of the trails that was still open for hiking and snowshoeing. There wasn't enough snow to really necessitate snowshoes, although it would have been fun if we had some. Either way, it was just awesome to meander around and hang out there for the day. The pictures are from a really cool lookout that you pass on the trail.

Such a fun place.
