Or at least it certainly feels that way these days. Maybe it's directly proportional to how busy I am. Or indirectly proportional. I don't know, time is just weird.
So what's new, huh? Well, I went to see our drummer's other creative outlet, Mile Over Mecca at the Rainbow this week.. (Can you believe I've been living in the market for 5 years this month and I've never been to the Rainbow?) Anyway, they've got a pretty cool acoustic-y folk-y rock-y thing going on. Dig.
I also went to see Silent Hill on opening night. You know, it's been almost a week and I still have mixed feelings about it. There were some definite cool stuff in there... the music, the first bizarro-world encounter, and the surrealism of the town was particularily cool. (Some of you might already be aware of my affection for abandoned buildings, ghost towns etc.) And the attack from pyramid-head was freaking awesome! The dialogue was completely awful (not unlike, say, a videogame translated from Japanese I suppose) and I guess I had expected there to be a bit more of the scary stuff, but I'm finding myself looking back favourably on the whole experience as I write about it. I think the games are still far more entertaining, but I can't say I didn't have a good time.
Some band news... the next Reverb Syndicate show has been confirmed for May 20th at Cafe Dekcuf. We're playing second of three acts (the others being Kris Ward and Gen Electrik, neither of whom I've heard before) so it should be interesting. We've booked studio time for June and hopefully we should have a disc out by the end of the summer. And our site is getting a whole new look soon; I've seen some prototype stuff and it looks awesome. And now that I've removed this blog from Google's listings, we actually come up near the top when you search for "reverb syndicate".
Coming up on the agenda: Game 5 tomorrow night, My Dad vs Yours next weekend and hopefully a whole lot more stuff in between.
